George Mason University selects StatMonitr for 2012-13

FAIRFAX, VA. -- George Mason University and StatBroadcast Systems reached agreement today to use the StatMonitr media stats system at George Mason's home athletic events during the 2012-13 school year.

George Mason University is a public university located in Fairfax, Virginia. Established in 1957, George Mason has an enrollment of 33,320. Originally founded as a branch of the University of Virginia, George Mason became an indepedent university in 1972 and is now the largest university in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The GMU Patriots sponsor 22 varisty sports as charter members of the Colonial Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division I level. The Patriots have made 117 NCAA postseason team appearances since they began athletic competition but have yet to capture a national title; the men's basketball team garnered national attention in 2006 when they beat three perennial contenders in the NCAA Tournament on the way to the team's first-ever Final Four berth, making it as a No. 11 seed.

George Mason is the fifth CAA member to partner with StatBroadcast, joining Hofstra, James Madison, Northeastern and UNCW.
