Western Kentucky University tabs StatMonitr for 2012-13

BOWLING GREEN, KY. -- Western Kentucky University and StatBroadcast have reached agreement to use the StatMonitr media stats system for home events for the remainder of the 2012-13 academic year.

Western Kentucky University is a public university located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with an enrollment of over 21,000. Founded in 1906, the university sits atop the highest point in south-central Kentucky, known as the Hill. The WKU Hilltoppers sponsor 17 varsity sports at the NCAA Division I level as a member of the Sunbelt Conference. The Hilltopper football team recently completed its transition period, moving from FCS to FBS competition, and will play in their first-ever bowl game this December. The men's basketball team has the 14th most victories in the history of the NCAA, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament 21 times and reaching the Final Four in 1971. Western Kentucky also trails only the University of Kentucky and Kansas University for the most conference championships, claiming a crown 41 times. The Lady Toppers women's basketball team has experienced similar success, appearing in a post-season tournament in 19 of the past 20 seaosns and appearing in the Final Four on three occasions, including finishing as runner-up in 1992.
